OVERVIEW: This original design was patterned after a brass rubbing made in a London cathedral. After tracing the pattern onto the background, premade bias strips are laid into place. The intertwining strips and encircling border are made using two widths of bias tape strips. The latest tools make the creation of the strips very easy. Once in place, the strips may be stitched with either hand or machine applique. Techniques for both are discussed.
