Custom Quilting ..........Quilt by Jennifer Kawata

QUILT BASTING
Basting for hand quilting – quilt top, back and batting are provided separately; the long arm machine and frame are used to perfectly prepare a quilt sandwich which is stitched together with large easily removed stitches using a contrasting cotton thread.

Cost estimate is $25-50* depending upon the quilt size.

Basting for machine quilting – same as above except a water soluable thread is used which will wash out after machine quilting is done by customer. This method is for those who want to do their own machine quilting, but want to bypass the quilt sandwiching process. It is especially useful for twin or larger quilts that are difficult to sandwich properly.

Cost estimate is $30-60* depending upon the quilt size.

LONG ARM QUILTING
Edge-to-edge quilting – A pattern of varying complexity is stitched from one side of the quilt to another and is repeated in multiple rows. The pattern may be a design which is hand guided or computer guided and the same thread is used throughout the quilt. Cost varies and is dependant on the complexity of the design, the size of the quilt and whether it is hand or computer guided.

Cost estimates:
• Wallhanging (less than 40x40) $40-$60
• Crib (~45”x60”) $50-$80
• Twin (~72”x 90”)$70-$120
• Queen (~90x108”) $90-$160
• King (~120x120”) $100-$190

Custom quilting – This quilting technique features designs in blocks, separate borders and/or sashing, stitching in the ditch, diagonals, echo quilting, and/or patterns of varying complexity stitched in specific areas of the quilt. The machine may be fully hand-guided or a combination of computer and hand guided. Costs vary with the complexity of the designs, the number of thread changes and the number of stops/starts in the designs.

Cost estimates:
Wallhanging (less than 40"x40") $60-$100
Crib (~45”x60”) $70-$120
Twin (~72”x 90”)$90-$160
Queen (~90x108”) $130-$220
King (~120"x120") $150-$300

Heritage Quilting - One of a kind quilting in exquisite detail is done on those special quilts that will be entered in shows or become legacy family quilts.  Mostly hand guided quilting, along with custom designed computer guided patterns:  outlining of applique, detailed background filler designs of various types, custom designed borders and sashes.

             Cost Estimates:
Wallhanging (less than 40"x40") starting at $100
           Crib (~45”x60”) starting at $140
           Twin (~72”x 90”) starting at $180
           Queen (~90x108”) starting at $240
           King (~120"x120") starting at $300
