The quilt center is done with curved piecing, by machine or by hand. Create templates from the master pattern and use these to cut out the orchid petals and background. Four blocks make up the center.
The braided border is made by foundation piecing onto preprinted muslin strips that are included in the pattern. The technique is the same as paper piecing, but there is no ripping out of paper! Using three fabrics creates the braided effect.
