The all over stylized floral and swirl quilting is done in a pink variegated thread. The back of the quilt is a single fabric with bright hearts. There is a hanging sleeve on the back. The pink binding is hand finished on the back.
Save the Bees
57" x 58"
This sampler quilt has 16 different modern blocks made with a variety of black, white and yellow fabrics. The black inner border frames the blocks and the city scape outer border fabric ties the three colors together. The backing is pieced with a yellow and black/white batik. The quilting design is a modern geometric pattern done in black thread. The batting is a cotton / poly blend.
Log Cabin Improv
40" x 49"
A modern version of the traditional log cabin block makes this a great baby quilt or wall hanging. Mostly solid fabrics are pieced together improvisationally to give the quilt an artist twist. Colors repeat in the border and in the flange of the binding.
Pick up Sticks
39" x 55"
This modern quilt is made from blocks that have quarter inch inserts of various fabrics against a dark blue background. It is quilted with an all over design of circles and swirls in blue thread.
This cute little quilt could be a wallhanging or a baby quilt. It's made from blocks and fabric pieces left over from the "Beachside Bricks" quilt, also for sale. " Mini Modern" is quilted with a medium beige thread in a geometric swirl and linear pattern. The fabrics on the quilt top are solid cottons and the backing is pieced with two neutral batiks. The batting is cotton/polyester.
This quilt is made with the "Jacob's Ladder" block. This scrappy quilt is made with a variety of light blue lavendars for the background and fun bright darker fabrics to create the diagonals. Colorful prints made the wider outer border frame. The quilting is done in an all over curl pattern, using a pastel variegated thread. The batting is a cotton polyester blend. The backing fabric is a print and the hand finished binding is a dark blue with pink dots. There is a hanging sleeve attached.
35" x 35"
The blocks for this wallhanging or baby quilt are made from paper pieced units to create the sharp pointed arcs and zigzag borders. Unsymmetrical curved seams create the illusion of rotating star bursts. The quilting is an all over texture of circles done in a multi-colored thread. The backing is a read spiral print and the binding is a black/white irregular stripe with flashes of color that finishes the quilt to perfection.
62" x 76"
The quilt center was made as part of a guild mystery quilt challenge. The borders were added to make the quilt slightly larger and add some green with touches of pink. The all over quilting design has butterflies and dragon flies to add to the field of flowers theme.
47" x 48"
A wide variety of red and cream diagonally pieced blocks are arranged into diamond shapes in this small lap or baby quilt. The same red/cream print is the inner border and binding, while a warm red fabric provides the outer border frame. The quilt backing is flannel and the batting is a washable wool for added warmth and loft. The geometric quilting design is done in cream thread.
Forest Braid II - large
57" x 59"
A rich range of blues, greens, browns and golds are woven together in this braid block quilt. The modern botanical print used as the sashing between rows adds to the forest feel. A swirly leaf design in green thread is used as the quilting pattern. Gold and blue fabrics are pieced for the backing. A blue binding provides the final frame for the beautiful throw or baby quilt.
This is the larger of the two quilts made with the same fabrics and blocks.
48" x 55"
A fun cat fabric is used as the design inspiration for this quilt. Hand painted blocks in the quilt are made using Shiva paint sticks and batik chops. The quilting design is an elegant swirling design using purple thread. The backing is pieced from fabrics to match and the quilt is finished with a geometric purple/color block fabric for binding.
