October 2009 Welcome Quilters! Another wonderful summer has flown by! A week in Germany, a week at Assateque Island, and two weeks in Alaska!! The week in Germany was an unplanned family trip to visit a sick relative, but we did some sightseeing and I found a quilt shop. Our camping trip to the beach is an annual event - no electricity but plenty of sunlight to work on those baltimore album blocks. The cruise through the Inside Passage of Alaska was absolutely amazing. I visited four quilt shops too! There's an Alaska quilt planned with all those new fabrics.
Isn't it fun to plan out those handwork projects to take along on a trip? Then we have to search for quilt shops in the towns where we're going! It's great to see what new fabrics and patterns can be found.
It has been a busy summer at home too. The Cat Collection quilt is done and instructions for the block of the month are complete. The quilt is hanging at Seminole Sampler. The program starts this month!
