The quilt top is pieced with a variety of asian prints surrounded by a wide solid black sashing and border. Various design elements from the fabrics are added in the broderie perse style to extend the design into the black surrounding fabric.
The sashing and border is custom quilted in a clamshell pattern and the asian fabrics are quilted to emphasize the designs in the fabric. Thread color on the top is chosed to blend into the various fabrics. On the back, the thread is gold metallic to show the quilting designs of the main blocks.
The backing of the quilt has a central asian fabric panel surrounded with black fabric.
