This modern design was made as part of a fabric challenge and to try out a new specialty curve ruler. Images from the challenge fabric are cut out and fused into the blocks near the bottom. The quilting reflects the abstract botanical theme, with some of the same designs from the fabric stitched in among the appliqued blooms. The bold black rings in the piecing are also reflected in the block designs stitched into the quilt. The backing is a gray mottled fabric that allows the stitching to show well on the back of the quilt.
